Parenting
We get it – the idea of parenting may feel overwhelming. Perhaps you want to be a parent, but…
- You have other goals that you want to accomplish.
- You feel like you don’t have the support you need.
- You just don’t know where to start when it comes to parenthood.
We are here to support you in addressing your parenting concerns and connecting you with the necessary resources. Many individuals have questions about single parenting, co-parenting, marriage, continuing their education, achieving financial stability, and various other topics.
Whatever your situation, you’re not alone. Hope’s Pathway Chatham provides free parenting resources to help you confidently prepare for parenthood, including support groups for new parents, couples support, community assistance referrals, and more.
Adoption
You have lots of choices with adoption. Will it be open, semi-open, or closed? Will it be private or will you use an agency? Today there are adoption plans in which you can know your child and be a part of your child’s life. You can have the peace of knowing your child is loved and cared for by the couple you choose.
We offer free information about the adoption process for birth mothers and can refer you to agencies that align with your specific needs. In most cases, financial assistance for medical and living expenses is available to birth mothers, along with various other benefits.
Abortion
If you are contemplating abortion, whether through abortion pills, at-home methods, or in-clinic procedures, we are here to address any questions you may have and provide comprehensive information about your options. It is important to remember that abortion is a medical procedure. What type will you have? What are the risks? You deserve to know the facts. You owe it to yourself to make an informed decision.
The first step is to confirm your pregnancy – we can provide you with a lab quality self-administered pregnancy test and, if it is positive, we can refer you for a limited ultrasound, at no cost to you. Having this information will inform your abortion options going forward. Next, we can help you understand the different types of abortion and their associated risks so that you can make an informed decision.
Hope’s Pathway Chatham does not provide prenatal care, emergency contraceptives, or refer or perform abortions.
